Poem for Monday, June 4

June 4, 2012 § Leave a comment

The Bundle

The Torah
wanders
one day
it comes here

the wind
has pushed
the parachuted
bundle

that has been
bound
in twine
and abandoned

one day
I find a teenage
diary
in the garbage

the bundle
of paper
is a small
solid affair

I throw
the brick
through a Nordic
shopwindow.

-Steve Malmude, published in The Hat no. 2, Summer 1999.
