Poem for July 24

July 24, 2012 § Leave a comment

In Naga Land, Nepal

Easy desultory night
you are working in me
What’s coming
seems not strange
It takes you
You grow younger

The moon pumps it up
All things float out
The thin ones, your
boyish hands,
move fastest.

-Anne Waldman, from Countries (Toothpaste Press, 1980)
